Michael Jaquish Bio:
Michael Jaquish resides in Gig Harbor, WA, USA, He is a retired law enforcement administrator with degrees in Business Administration and Law Enforcement. He is a licensed Private Investigator and Expert Witness for the court in matters involving private security training. He is also a journalist and the author of more than ten books including The Role of the Security Officer, a comprehensive manual of basic instruction for security professionals. After retiring from law enforcement as the Chief of Police in Okanogan, Washington he traveled to West Africa where he spent the next seven years conducting security & intelligence operations for the US Embassy, NASA, USAID, Voice of America, United Nations, European Union and a variety of other government agencies and private companies. Michael’s duties carried him to Liberia, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Morocco and he often worked in the midst of civil war and political unrest. In the fall of 1997 he returned to the United States where he has worked primarily as a free-lance writer and a trainer and consultant for security companies such as BRINK’S, Incorporated, Blackwater USA, Firearms Academy of Hawaii, Pierce County Security and various fugitive recovery operations. Since the terrorist attacks on America on September 11, 2001, Michael has been deeply committed to raising the bar for professionalism within the private security industry. He writes about current global and domestic terrorism, security, politics and current events and expresses his opinions in various publications and on his two blogs, Stranger in a Strange Land, and The Vigilant American, which can be viewed on this web site.

Orrin Knutson Bio:
Orrin Knutson resides in Yakima, WA, USA. He has degrees in Business Administration (Central Texas College) and Law Enforcement (CLETA). While serving in the United States Army overseas as a Small Arms Armorer and Trainer, Sgt. Knutson competed as a member of the Third Armor Division Rifle and Pistol team. When he returned to the United States he signed on as the Marshal for Blackhawk Colorado, He discontinued his law enforcement career in October 1989, changing gears and moving to the private sector working for companies like Executive Protection, Storm Security Systems Inc, and Wackenhut. His job varied from bodyguard services and bail recovery to plant supervisor for security contracts in Meat and Poultry Processing. Late in 1993 the next nine years were spent conducting computer information security & investigation operations as owner of Micro Media Inc. of Rock Springs, WY also consulted for a variety of other private companies. Orrin maintained his commitment to firearms and self-defense training and has been committed to raising the bar for professionalism within the private security industry. Orrin is currently employed by CWI Security based in Yakima WA and currently teaches weekly classes to security officers and conducts public firearms classes at various ranges in Central Washington. As a WSCJTC Armed Guard Certification Trainer he provides handgun qualification for Private Security Officers, Private Detectives, and Bail Recovery agents.

Michael Hawkins Bio:
Michael O. Hawkins, J.D. resides in Edmonds, WA, USA. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1972 and he is a former South Carolina State Constable. He practiced law for fifteen years as a trial lawyer in both State and Federal Courts. Mike is admitted to practice before the courts of South Carolina, the U.S. District Court for South Carolina, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mike decided to make a career change and became an Agent for the U.S. Naval Investigative Service (now known as the Naval Criminal Investigative Service) and conducted felony level criminal, espionage and counter-terrorism investigations in the U.S., Europe and Central America. He then became a Supervisory Criminal Investigator at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) where he trained thousands of Federal, State, Local and International criminal investigator students. While at the FLETC, he was selected by the U.S. Departments of Justice, Treasury and State to be an instructor in Law Enforcement Management and Leadership at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Budapest, Hungry where he taught mid and upper level law enforcement executives from the former Soviet Block countries. After leaving Federal service, Mike became a Senior Judicial Educator for the State of Washington’s Office of the Administrator of the Courts before becoming the Chief Legal Counsel for a government contractor responsible for the detection and investigation of Medicare fraud in thirteen states and three Pacific territories. In early 2004 Mike formed The Hawkins Group to provide professional investigative services to lawyers and others in Washington and has been involved in a wide variety of investigations in the Seattle area including a large number of criminal defense cases in the Washington and Federal Courts.
Mike has written several articles dealing with law and investigations and has been published in several magazines including The Texas Investigator and in a book entitled Business Security.
Mike lives and works in Edmonds, WA and is often assisted in his cases by his wife, Janell who is a former Agent for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General and is a white collar crime and fraud specialist for The Hawkins Group.
TOM GEORGE
Tom is a WA State Certified Firearms Instructor who does a lot of Bounty Hunter (Fugitive Recovery) training for Bail Enforcement Agents in Washington State in the Tacoma area. In addition to a diverse expertise in firearms and street survival skills Tom is certified as an instructor in defensive tactics, Handcuffing, Taser and OC Spray.
