Operating a motor vehicle is something we all take for granted. Unfortunately, over 50,000 people are killed or injured on our nation's highways each year, and several billion dollars in annual loses are accumulated by private citizens and industry due to driver negligence. As a traffic enforcement officer, Michael Jaquish spent years investigating accidents and he now teaches people how to avoid becoming involved in them as a certified SMITH DRIVING instructor.
The technique taught in this class are basic and easy to grasp and equally easy to apply to one's daily driving routines, whether you drive professionally for a living, or simply want to obtain the fundamental skills necessary to allow you to survive your trip to the store and back each day. If the class is provided to security or law enforcement professionals, additional elements will be introduced that are unique to the needs of this area.
Classes involve:
(1) Approximately three hours of classroom instruction
(2) A written exam
(3) Driving demonstration by the instructor
(4) Driving participation by the attendee
(5) A final evaluation by the instructor
Documentation of the class attendance and certificates of completion will be issued and may be maintained on file by the participant or placed in their employee personnel file if the class is company sponsored.
Cost for the class is $100 per person and a suitable vehicle must be provided by the participant(s) for the demonstration and driving portion of the class.
