ARMORED TRANSPORT SECURITY TRAINING
The armored transport industry is a huge, competitive and thriving industry in the United States and in most developed countries around the world. Michael Jaquish has over six years of supervisory, management and training experience in the industry and is eager to share his expertise with you if you happen to be connected with any Armored Transport business.
As those of you in the field are aware, the requirements and needs of this particular area of the private security industry are unique. Armored truck crews all transport something everyone wants, and a percentage of the population is willing to kill to get it if provided the opportunity. That is where STSI steps in. The goal of STSI is to reduce the opportunities for theft, both external, AND internal, through a series of steps that begins with basic training to raise the level of awareness of the wide range of threats for the crews and the managers.
The purpose and objective of this training is three-fold:
(1) To provide the armored courier, driver and manager with the basic tools needed to perform the job responsibly.
(2) To satisfy State Unarmed Guard training requirements.
(3) To reduce the liability exposure to the employer!
With this goal in mind, STSI offers the following options that will assist in meeting these objectives:
(1) Basic Armored Transport (AT) training (Eight Hours): The curriculum for this course covers all the basic information any two or three man ground crew would need to know in order to perform the basic duties of the job safely and professionally. Individual company forms, policies and procedures are inserted into the training to guarantee that the material is pertinent to each company. (Cost: $100 per person with price breaks for four or more).
(2) ATM service and replenishment (Eight Hours): This course covers the basics of ATM service and provides the attendees with the opportunity to actually visit ATMs being serviced by the client and learn through hands-on experience how to replenish these machines. The client is expected to arrange for visits to the machines, or to have them at the classroom. (Cost: $100 per person with price breaks for four or more).
(3) Internal security of armored transport operations (1-3 days): This is basically an independent quality assurance evaluation of your current operation from the ground up, from the facilities to the trucks and of the crews themselves. It is recognized that internal details of this nature are highly sensitive and company confidential, so a very high priority is placed on maintaining the confidentiality of any information uncovered discussed during the assessment process.
All reports and documents generated by this quality assurance investigation are left with the manager(s) of the company upon completion of the assessment and a confidentiality agreement is signed by the evaluator prior to the assessment.
Prior to conducting the assessment, documents, rules and regulations pertinent to the organization retaining the services of STSI are obtained and reviewed and the operation is then evaluated for the following:
(1) To determine if the policies and procedures are effective and necessary.
(2) To determine if the policies and procedures are being followed.
(3) To determine if any changes or additional policies or procedures need to be considered.
Concluding the assessment, a report will be generated that will contain all the findings and recommendations of the evaluator.
Cost for the quality assurance evaluation service varies, depending upon the particular needs and focus of the client but there is a $500 minimum charge for the initial two-day consultation that includes the cost of generating the preliminary assessment report. Hourly rate for follow-up visits is $50 per hour.
If you happen to have a problem with internal losses that may require the participation of an undercover investigator, this can also be arranged. Please refer to the Private Investigations page for more information.
